Alexandra Icet is a traditional artist who strives to preserve and share the meaningful stories and complex inner worlds of living creatures and the worlds they inhabit. She is a lifelong student of art, animals, and the natural world. She has loved to draw since she could hold a pencil, and since then, has enjoyed learning to use every visual medium she could find--watercolor, ink, charcoal, pyrography, photography, and digital art. Finally, after two decades of telling herself that oil paints would be “too messy,” she tried these too, and found her favorite medium yet. |
She is currently working in Alaska, and owned by three working Seppala Siberian Sleddogs, two free-loading conures, and a flock of chickens and ducks, who all help her cultivate creativity in art, and understanding of life. She also feels that an artistic detour to study and perform classical ballet has shaped her understanding of expression, movement, and storytelling in visual art, and believes this will inform her art to be more thoughtful and emotionally evocative. She is excited to pick up her paintbrushes again, and cannot wait to see where her new creative influences will take her in 2024. She hopes that her work as a visual artist can help to inspire creativity and passion in other people, and a curiosity in the magic that exists all around them.
